FAQ

What's the difference between Madera Cranks and Profile Race Cranks?
--The biggest difference between the two is that Profile Race Cranks are stamped with the Profile Logo and feature more finish work before they are chromed or powdercoated. The tubing is the same for both. Madera Cranks are only available with solid CrMo BB spindles, and are only available in black. Madera Protocol Cranks do not have the Profile Limited Lifetime Warranty, but low-cost crash replacement pricing is available.

Can I upgrade my Madera Cranks or Hubs with Profile Ti parts?
--One of the ways that we can keep the price of Madera parts down is to offer them for sale with only a few options. However, you can upgrade the cranks and hubs at a future time with any of our Hollow CrMo or Ti upgrades.

  • For the Protocol Cranks, you can get a hollow CrMo or solid Ti Profile bb spindle, as well as CrMo or Ti flush mount bolts.
  • For the Pilot front hub, you can get Ti 3/8 bolts
  • For the V2 cassette hub, you can get Ti drivers, Ti 3/8 bolts, Hollow Cr Mo or Ti 14mm axles, or Solid 14mm axle, with CrMo or Ti axle nut

All of these upgrades are just that- aftermarket upgrades, and are not available as substitutions at the time of purchase.

Will you sponsor me?
--You can send in a sponsor me video, but the best way to join the team is to introduce yourself to one of the guys who's already riding for us. If they like your riding and your personality, they might introduce you to the TM and then you might be offered a grassroots deal. It won't happen overnight, either. From there, you might work your way onto the flow team, and from there, the pro team, but it's a process, and it's not a guarantee. Ride your bike and have fun, if you have the talent, sponsors will usually find you.

Will you send me free stickers?
--No, sorry. You can get free stickers with any order from our online store, or you can order a Profile/Madera sticker pack for $3.00 US from our online store, but postage is too expensive to mail free stickers around the world these days. Sorry.

Why Madera? How do you pronounce that?
It's pronounced Ma-dair-a. Not Mad-Era. Not Muhdoorah. Not Maddyerra. Not Madonkadonk. Why? For one thing, we're a couple of miles from Madeira Beach, Florida. Why didn't we spell it with the "i"? It would be even harder to pronounce with the "i".

Are Madera parts made in the USA?
--Yes, all Madera parts are made in the same factory by the same machines and the same guys as Profile Racing parts.
