Bryce

I spoke to Bryce Toole last night for a bit. We talked about riding, we talked about the Madera video, and we talked about planting palm trees. Unfortunately, his trip to Dubai has been delayed a couple months. But that means we'll be seeing him around town until then. Bryce is a portable party. Invite him to any situation and you have an instant good time. Below is a photo of Dave Friemuth, Joey Juaristi, and Bryce "Bruce" Toole from BACO. Bryce was a train conductor for halloween, which, really isn't that far from his normal attire. He's the only person I've seen shred a spine in overalls and cowboy boots. Its always an amazing scene with that guy... Pic by Chad Degroot.

John's Frame

John Ludwick should be back in NH safe and sound by now. He left Florida on last Wednesday (I'll have to say that he is always a clean house guest) and slowly headed back up the east coast to hit some spots. On the day they left, we got the new issue of BmxPlus where John got this shot below holding his new Versa frame.

Saw it in person last week and It's a really clean frame. Not sure what the ETA on availability is yet? We'll keep you posted.

More for Mike

I spoke with McDermott this week--he asked that we give his product contingency on the new Madera "Grafitti" Hubs to Mike Aitken. We're pretty stoked to announce that...so starting this month, a percent of each hub sale will be going to the Mike Aitken fund!

Thanks Dave!

Midwestbmx.net is down right now unfortunately. But here is a link to the second place winners of their video editing contest. Congrats to Mike Hinkens and Jeff K-there's some bangers in here:

Madera and Baco...

John Ludwick is here this afternoon fixing his bike up. We're going to try to ride some street this afternoon, if the rain holds off. He's soaking up as much of the warm weather as he can before heading back to New England...

If you haven't checked www.bmxonline.com, you're missing a pretty thorough re-cap of the BACO jam from over the weekend.

I was pretty amped to see most of our dudes in attendence; Josh Eilken, Dave McDermott, Bryce Toole, and John Ludwick. Dave spent most of the weekend filming in Orlando for the Madera video while Bryce, John, and Josh rode the jam. Here's a short re-cap of those three:

Bryce: can ride full speed ahead while wearing a train conductors outfit and cowboy boots. We'll miss this guy; There's a possibility that he's taking off for Dubai at the end of the month to plant palm trees for the winter. I can't imagine the stories to be told...Bryce is a living legend.

John: Pulled so much wild tech stuff on the skate side I lost count. Unfortunately, when the "no-fun-gun" came out, John ended up smashing himself about a half dozen times on a hang-over tooth to 180...but we'll be filming in Tampa over the next couple days for the Madera video.

Josh-Had wild lines galore. Throw in a backwards curved wall ride on the shadow wall and a fakie to backwards ruben on the DC quarter to wall, and you have someone eligible for best trick. Matt Sparks took first--wild, downside handplant transfer, while Eilken took a well deserved second for that backwards ruben.

Eilken. After about a dozen full speed roll-backs to spinal plant on this wall, Josh pulled (I think) the first fakie ruben on a quarter to wall.

Nosewheelis never get old. I saw John do some of the longest ones I've ever seen over the weekend. $160 richer ($20 at a time), here's one of the jibs John cashed in on.

Thanks to Degroot and everyone at Mesh for making this happen. If you missed out, this might have been your last chance...

Have a good one.
